METHYL, also known as Methyl, has the formula C7H9N3O2.

Nature:
METHYL L is a colorless to pale yellow liquid. It is soluble in most organic solvents such as chloroform, carbon disulfide and ethanol at room temperature. It has a special ammonia flavor.

Use:
METHYL L can be used as an intermediate in drug synthesis, especially for the synthesis of anticancer drugs. It can also be used as a chemical reagent, playing the role of catalyst and solvent in the field of organic synthesis.

Method:
There are many preparation methods for METHYL, common methods include:
1) 1-methyl-imidazole is reacted with Formic Anhydride or formic acid to generate 1-methyl-imidazole -5-Formic Anhydride, and then deacylated with alkali to obtain the target product.
2) React 1-methyl-imidazole with methanol and formic acid to generate the target product.
